How to order the status of Your Team.

When we got out onto the frozen lake I remember hearing the ice creak underneath the wheels of the wagon as we slowly approached the little wooden shack that would home us from the elements for the rest of the day. I knew that with my father at my side I was safe from harm. I never queried him, or desired anything more but to make him proud of me, and have fun. My pop commanded not only my faithfulness, but my respect, my friendship, and I surrendered to his command on blind religion. As I think on the experiences in my life it becomes clear terribly quickly why this is. When I joined the army I had the chance to see this actual style of leadership in action. I discovered that the leaders who where loved by the unit, who commanded the status of the men, and who without query would be followed into a hail of on coming bullets, where those that the men saw as 'father figures'. Many years back, down in South America, two girls went out late one night to do a little fishing.

When the stump all of a sudden moved, both girls were scared and quickly spotted that what they'd noted wasn't a tree stump but an anaconda, one of the biggest snakes around the world. The woman holding the flashlight figured the snake was an omen and discussed to her buddy that they should call it an evening. Her buddy, to her surprise, scoffed at her request and announced that if the large snake approached their ship that she meant to drive the stick she was holding right down its throat. On hearing that, the woman holding the light became certain that it was time to name it an evening.

She informed her buddy that she was leaving, handed her the flashlight, and then stepped over the side of the ship and out into the water. You can find that when you give to your team, they're going to give back to you.
