One of the 1st things you should do to devise a great fishing trip is to identify your concerns. You must be more categorical than asserting you need great fishing.
One person could be happy with catching twenty fish a day, whilst another could be expecting twenty fish an hour.
How are you going to catch them?
Do you want to troll? Drift? Fish in streams? Deep water fish?
We have seen folk trolling in sixty feet of water thinking the fish were just a couple of feet from the surface.
Each fisherman dreams of a larger catch. Is it feasible to understand previously when you must plan a visit to enjoy some fishing, catch more frequently than usual, and come back home feeling 100 pc satisfied? Based on my own private research round the best fishing times, I suspect it is. I attempted different lures, baits and techniques till I'd spent a tasty sum in my quest to enhance my fishing catch. When I ultimately heard about the "Solunar Theory"--or fishing by moon phase--like most anglers, I was doubtful.
To help me identify if there had been any truth in the moon's effect on the best fishing times, I kept a record of each trip I made over a period of eighteen months. BUT, I also revealed that it's not anywhere near as advanced as many would have us believe.
How Does Fishing By Moon Phase Work?
Each fisherman knows the best fishing times are when the fish are feeding.
As the moon has an effect on a number of factors surrounding the fish--including the live fodder they hunt--these periods, mixed with the moon's phase, are what trigger feeding.
by accepting this, and selecting times when dawn / nightfall and moonrise / moonset coincide with new or full moon phases, you may increase you chance of a good fishing catch.
There really is nothing advanced about this at all ; it's simply a matter of knowing previously precisely when the sun and moon will rise and set.
A visit to a fishing lodge on a lake with panfish and bass will probably be much less expensive than a visit to Alaska or Northern Canada for arctic burn. Fishing stories.
So, if you need a great fishing trip, start by planning just precisely you need out of the trip and how much you are prepared to spend.
